Barbara Ray
Barbara Ray’s career has encompassed private legal practice, as well as top leadership positions with two State of Florida agencies. She is currently the Managing Partner for the Tallahassee Office of Bryant Miller Olive and the Chair of the firm’s Government Procurement practice area. She works with clients to help them to develop and execute effective business development strategies in the public sector. She has worked with the Bunnell Idea Group and sees the value of its programs to her client base, as well as, her own business development activities. Barbara and BIG have joined forces to share the program with businesses focused on public sector opportunities.
For the last decade Barbara has represented many companies, including Fortune 500 companies, growing their state government business. With Barbara’s counsel and guidance an IT consulting and management company has grown its revenues from $800k per year to over $7M per year…a large services company has grown its client base from 2 state agencies to 13 state agencies over a 3 year period, and its revenue proportionately. She was also successful getting another vendor on a multi-award contract with a total program spend of $2B per year.
Barbara graduated with honors from Florida State University College of Law in 1991. Barbara is a natural leader and loves community and civic involvement. She is currently serving a 3-year term on the Board of Trustees for Rollins College, her alma mater, and is on the Regional Council and Council of Advisors for Leadership Florida and the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In 2003, she was appointed to a four-year term as a Florida State Boxing Commissioner under Governor Jeb Bush. She was the only female on the Board during her tenure.
